About 15 years ago we were introduced to a collection of beautiful, wool rugs and poufs that became a perfect complement to our furniture. For 75 years the German company Paulig has been producing these rugs to the highest standards of quality and sustainability in Morocco. From the first stages of dying through to the last hand-knotted details, the entire process is carefully produced by Paulig’s skilled artisans.

Wool never felt so good
Pouf!
As a whimsical seat or footstool, our woolen poufs are a delightful accent in any room, especially when layered over a Paulig carpet. Carefully hand-woven around a dense core, they are available in three different sizes and thirty colours.
Why wool?
Simply put, 100% wool rugs are extremely durable, soil-resistant, hypo-allergenic and of course, incredibly cozy. Wool fibres have a natural crimp, meaning they are more resistant to pressure from objects and feet, resulting in a longer-lasting rug. The natural oils in wool fibres repel dirt and oil-based soil making them easy to clean and maintain. Wool rugs are also excellent air purifiers. The fibres hold onto dust before being vacuumed and absorb excess humidity from the air. Lastly, wool is incredibly insulating, perfect for those cooler months in the year.
Exceptional quality
From dying, felting, twisting, weaving and tying, the entire rug and pouf-making process is done by a group of skilled artisans in Morocco, ensuring the utmost quality and craftsmanship. Before the process begins, the wool is washed using a chemical-free soap that helps protect the final product against moths. It is then dyed using high quality, metal-free Swiss dyes that are safe for both you and the environment. The wool is then felted to create extremely durable yarn which is then woven and knotted into beautiful rugs and poufs.
